pic3 Game drives along ancient dry riverbeds reveal life that in its sparseness reminds us just how special it is. Rare, desert dwelling elephants, springbok, gemsbok and jackal roam these plains, while their images are found etched in the rocks at Twyfelfontein, Namibia’s first World Heritage Site.
Relax in a sparkling pool, enjoy a sundowner, and pause, breathe in and know that this is luxury as nature intended it.

ACCOMMODATION
Secluded amongst the boulders, Mowani ‘s guest rooms are a testament to the surroundings, where a sense of elegance and earthiness prevails. Winner of an architectural eco-design award in Germany, the organic nature of the design is felt through the camp. Colours, textures and comforts envelope you, while the vaulted cathedral like thatched ceilings are Africa’s way of paying homage to nature.

Mowani offers 13 en-suite rooms with views across the valley or hill top vistas and 2 luxury suites, with open-air bathrooms, a spacious lounge and deck for enjoying meals in peaceful seclusion.
There are also 7 campsites with stunning views across the valley and private ablution facilities.

ROOMS
Adrift in my own universe, it was easy to forget that nestled between the ancient granite boulders and paths connecting it all together, were 12 thatch en-suite rooms... each accommodating a story of their own.

MINI SUITES
The private suite was my ultimate retreat. Uninterrupted views surrounded me whether relaxing in the folds of my bed, enjoying dinner on the private deck or throwing caution to the wind in the open-air bathroom! An additional indoor bathroom and luxuriously furbished African flavoured lounge, further complimented my accommodations - made for a king... in hiding!

Sustainable vegetable garden:
Mowani has started their own herb garden which is maintained by the chefs. This garden is being
expanded to grow a variety of vegetables as well. We do however not want to expand too much as
we are also supporting a community based vegetable garden in the conservancy.

Local suppliers:
Mowani purchases vegetables from Dimab, a community based vegetable garden and assists with
empowering the locals to manage the project successfully.

Solar power:
Mowani does not make use of solar power. We do however make use of gas geysers and use energy
saving bulbs. The lodge was designed with a high roof and ventilation ducts which results in a
temperature change from inside and outside of no more than 5 degrees on hot days.
